Retractable Lanyards automatically extend
and retract to allow the user mobility.
These units utilize an inertia-brake
mechanism which instantly locks to
restrain the worker to a fall of less than
6 inches (15.2 cm).
The lanyard on the far left is the Model
No. 5008 which has extended length of 8
feet.
The Model No. 5008-D has an overall length
of 17 feet and the unit also includes a
Buck Stop shock absorbing pack to reduce
the arresting force in the event of a
fall. If a fall should occur and the
shock absorbing pack deploys, the 5008-D
can extend up to an additional 42 inches.
